Cuts look more complicated than they actually are. The easiest way to do it I find is in HTML - use the code < lj-cut text="Your linking text here" >Type your cut contents< /lj-cut > (removing the spaces at either end of the brackets first). Or in rich text click the icon with the little squiggle underneath and then type your text in the blue box. :)
